Heayoon Woo

Heayoon has been a Silicon Valley, high-tech lawyer for over 20 years, working with emerging growth companies, and currently leads a private practice at Clarion Law. She previously held executive leadership positions at Silicon Valley companies, including as Vice President and General Counsel to Instill Corp. and Rotary Rocket Company. She has also worked with high-tech companies of different growth stages during her tenure at several major law firms. Heayoon earned her J.D. from Stanford University and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Harvard College.

Heayoon and her husband, David, enjoy parenting three high-spirited children. She has been an avid volunteer, including serving on the Executive Board of the Loyola Elementary School PTA and as a Parent Lead for the Nueva School. She enjoys yoga, the California outdoors, and painting in her spare time, and is a member of the Pacific Art League and the Asian American Woman Artists’ Association.

Having moved to the U.S. from Korea as a middle school student, Heayoon has personally experienced and witnessed the difficulties encountered by immigrants in a new culture. She is one of KACF-SF’s 13 Founding Members and has served on the Foundation’s Community Grants Committee for the past two years, served as a Co-Chair for the Inaugural Gala, and lends her legal expertise to the Foundation whenever needed.

“With our busy lives, it’s easy to get trapped in our own bubbles. KACF-SF has helped me to focus on causes close to my heart and to do my small part in serving the needs and raising awareness of various issues facing the Korean American community. It is my sincere hope that KACF-SF can build on its initial momentum and the warm support of our community to create a lasting legacy of philanthropy and community service we can all be proud of.”
